Alfred, Lord Tennyson

About the poet:

Born: August 6, 1809 in Lincolnshire, England.
Died: October 6, 1892 in Surrey, England.

For most of Queen Victoria's reign, Tennyson was the Poet Laureate of the United Kingdom and remains one of the most popular poets of the English language.  Tennyson started writing poetry in his teens and, along with his brother had their works published locally at age seventeen.
He continued to write and publish several works into his eighties.
